Dark Portrait by Samuel Singh

Dark eyes, face that is shaded and dark by nature yet you see something sad in his face, something he is yearning, craving. He looks once again in the mirror asking for Forgiveness as his face is shaded even more with sin and guilt.

Staring after her - by Samuel Singh

There is something of quiet pain as he stares at her leaving, knowing that there is one life and maybe even one love in his life and he just saw her walk out of his. It's not anger he feels but a deep brooding sense of loss and a yearing for someone that can no longer be his.

"Old Year's Night" By Samuel Singh

OLD YEAR’S NIGHT

Dreams unfulfilled,
ideas lying in the gutters of
my study.
Scattered papers of thought
fluttering when the paint peeled door
opens.
The brown clock on the white wall
stares like a living
grotesque eye,
surveying with scorn
the unfulfilled.
It’s hands twitch further
to an hour that millions
await, and I,
turn in disgust
stressing upon my losses;
of communication,
identity,
pride
and truth;
the loss of a year many tell me; wasted
yet, much accomplished.
Another year, minutes away
And I vow;
Never to let,
Never to have,
Never to demonstrate;
fears,
shortcomings
and losses.
I will;
‘carpe diem et
Carpe ano.’
